Luigi Romano is an expert of system security and dependability. He is the head of the Fault and Intrusion Tolerant Networked SystemS (FITNESS) research group at the University of Naples “Parthenope” (fitnesslab.eu), doing internationally recognized research in cybersecurity, with emphasis on Critical Infrastructure Protection. He has worked extensively as a consultant in the field of security and safety critical computer systems design, evaluation, and procurement in a variety of application domains, notably: ehealth, traffic control, banking, eID, and data storage. He is one of the founders of Trust Up (https://www.trustup.it/en/), a spin-off of the University of Naples “Parthenope”, specialized in Trusted Execution Environment technology. He was one of the experts of ENISA EESCP-Expert Group, one of the experts in charge of the ENISA Annual Report on Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Needs and Priorities, and one of the members of ENISA expert group on Priorities of Research On Current and Emerging Network Technologies (PROCENT). He was/is the Technical Coordinator and/or one of the Principal Investigators of more than 20 European Projects, within the context of FP7, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe.
