Dr. Ilia Kolochenko is a Swiss information security expert and attorney-at-law in Washington, D.C. He is the Chief Architect and CEO at ImmuniWeb, a global application security company with over 1,000 enterprise customers, and a Partner at Platt Law LLP, a New York-based law firm with offices in New York and Washington, D.C.

Being a globally recognized expert in cybersecurity and cybercrime investigations, Dr. Kolochenko has over 15 years of professional experience in information security auditing, incident response, and digital forensics. As a lawyer, his practice is primarily focused on data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity law. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity Practice & Cyber Law at Capitol Technology University and a Faculty Member at the D.C. Bar Continuous Legal Education Program, where he teaches cybersecurity and data protection for lawyers.

Dr. Kolochenko is Vice-Chair of the Information Security Committee at the American Bar Association (ABA) and a Member of the Board of Appeals at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He is also a member of the Europol Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN), INTERPOL Digital Forensics Expert Group (DFEG), National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), SANS Institute CISO Network, and the EU CyberNet.

Dr. Kolochenko holds an LL.M. in Information Technology Law from the University of Edinburgh Law School, an M.Sc. in Criminal Justice (Cybercrime Investigations & Cybersecurity) from Boston University, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Capitol Technology University. He is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) and Privacy Law Specialist (PLS) at the IAPP and holds several certifications, including AIGP, CIPP/A, CIPP/C, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, and CIMT. Additionally, he has earned numerous security certifications from GIAC and the SANS Institute in cloud security, incident forensics, and offensive cyber operations.

He has authored over 60 articles on cybersecurity, cybercrime investigations, cyber law, and artificial intelligence in respected journals, including the New York Law Journal, Washington Lawyer, and Bloomberg Law. His interviews and expert opinions have been published in over 250 media outlets across Europe and the U.S. Dr. Kolochenko is also a frequent speaker at cybersecurity, law enforcement, and legal conferences worldwide.
