Ivan Kalabashkin

Deputy Head, Cybersecurity Department Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)

Col. Ivan Kalabashkin was promoted to the Deputy Head of the SBU Cybersecurity Department in April 2023 after serving there in various leadership positions for several years. His duties include direction and oversight of investigations into transnational organized cybercrime, developing and maintaining effective relations with partner law enforcement agencies.
In his previous assignment Col. Kalabashkin worked across the SBU’s major lines of effort including counterintelligence, counterterrorism and counteraction to organized crime and financial fraud.
Col. Kalabashkin earned a Master’s Degree in Law from the SBU National Academy in 2008, and in 2020 - a PhD in Criminal Justice for dissertation on covert means of countering organized crime.
Col. Kalabashkin participated in advanced law enforcement training programs from the College of Policing (England, UK) and the FBI National Academy (Virginia, USA).
